Honest – AdventPhotos (2015#4)

3 12 2015

In this time of accessible technology coupled with social media, we can fall into the trap of “fixing” or “Photoshopping” the life that we show to others. In a few words and pictures, we can present a snapshot of ourselves that seems pretty darn close to perfect. But, alone in our homes, lying in bed at night waiting for sleep, we can’t pretend to ourselves. There is no filter that adds vibrancy, or blur function to smooth out the blemishes, or balance adjustment to even things out. Maintaining an edited version of life can become overwhelming. Isn’t it wonderful to know that Jesus wants to come into our real lives, not some pretend-perfect facade. He wants us to meet Him as we are, and allow Him to do the transforming.
